This happens to be my first post in this blogging community and what better way for me to start the road than to address it to my motherland and my brethren. Today as I write the post, it is the last day of the year 2008 and eagerly (for the record) await the new set of 365 days.
Honestly speaking though , I believe there is nothing much to eagerly look forward to. I may have set the tongue lolling for the "Half Glass Filled" type of people, but I shall stick to my utterances, and perhaps with some amount of conviction too.
Forgive me God, for I cannot forget the mayhem in Mumbai. Never had I seen such an attack on my country on this scale. Being an Indian in general and having stayed in Northeastern part of the country, I guess with reasonable fairness, that I have seen quite a few massacres. But still the magnitude of the Mumbai carnage, was something unprecedented.
Forgive me God, for i cannot forgive the people who have bled the country. The religion in which I profess to have faith, teaches me that forgiveness belongs to the mighty. So be mighty, my India, for then alone you shall have the right to forgive. A beggar cannot renounce and so a meek country cannot forgive. Prior to renunciation, comes wealth accumulation, likewise prior to forgiveness comes the aggression.
Forgive me God, for I writhe in pain seeing Pakistan getting away unscathed. How long shall we the people of India bear the unbearable, how long shall the people of the country show restraint?
Forgive me God for questioning your wisdom, but when shall the people of my motherland arise from the inertial slumber?
Aggression and sheer aggression is the call of the day.
Readers may feel this is war mongering at its bitterest. I say we are already in war when hundreds of people die in the streets, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati and Surat.
People who fear the war catastrophe, I ask "was mumbai carnage any lesser than a catastrophe"?
In the end I shall end with someone's famous lines:
EVERY WAR IS FOUGHT WITH PEACE AS ITS END ALL.
